On Saturday, 14 June 2025, the Perth Netball Association hosted a memorable Ice Bucket Challenge event at the Matthews Netball Centre, uniting the local community in support of FightMND’s mission to combat Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The event was graced by the presence of Jan Daniher, wife of FightMND co-founder Neale Daniher, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the proceedings. Her attendance underscored the importance of community involvement in raising awareness and funds for MND research.

Participants from various netball clubs, including players, coaches, and supporters, enthusiastically took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge, a symbolic act of solidarity with those battling MND. The chilly plunge served as a powerful reminder of the daily struggles faced by individuals affected by this debilitating disease.

Since its inception in 2014, FightMND has raised over $115 million, significantly contributing to research and support services for those living with the disease.
