PNA Constitution Update

The PNA Constitution is currently in the process of being updated to reflect the changes required under the amended Associations Incorporation Act (2015).  The PNA Executive approved the changes at its meeting on 24th August and the revised Constitution has now been sent to the Department of Commerce for formal approval.

The Associations Incorporation Act (2015) includes 19 matters (known as the schedule 1 requirements) that need to be addressed in the rules of the Association.  Each Association must update its own rules to include the new Schedule 1 matters and ensure that the rules comply with the requirements of the new Act by 1st July 2019.  Up until this date, the Association’s committee has the power to make any necessary alterations to the rules so they comply with the Act without requiring a special resolution of members.
