14 and Under Team 2 Match Report by John Savill (Head Coach)
After a tough, nerves infused Round 1 match against Kalamunda, the team took to the court against Joondalup, a team who had also been on the wrong side of the ledger the previous week. The girls again looked a little nervous but were still super keen to impress and give it everything they had. The game was another very physical affair and the girls worked extremely hard throughout, scores were fairly close in the first half however it was Joondalup who came out harder after half-time and took a lead that we were unable to pull back, eventually we went down 15-39.

Praise to all players, no-one dropped their head and gave in, they fought right to the end. Post-match enjoying another spectacular meal prepared by our parents (I cannot believe the effort the parents are going too! J)

Performances to note; Sophia Carbone was again zippy about the court, working hard; Lilly Malekin tried valiantly in defence and along with Sarah Major were our highest interceptors for the night, whilst Sequoia Gamble was again our highest goal scorer.

We may not have made had a win as yet but there’s no denying the effort being made by the girls and I’m sure our first victory won’t be too far away. Bring on Round 3.
